Yeah Elty, will be loads who drop tickets next year myself included. Church or K1 ain't worth 1500 not with how busy they get. Reluctantly paid a grand this year, and wished I hadn't when K1 was rammed all spring. Worth it if your a bank tramp but average working man on say 30 overnighters a year it's not.

Savage, the cemex sell off has made some waters more accessible, some near impossible to get on. Equally the price/amount of anglers has dramatically shifted (FAS Yateley for example) Hope you find an alternate water to wet a line. 1500 is a hell of a lot before you even factor in fuel, bait etc!

Is this the dawn of the mega expensive syndicate tickets?? Mabey start a thread for vastly over priced tickets that just aren't worth the bucks for the average angler!!

Been on K1 for 5 years and watched the ticket price increase from 350 to 1500 in that short space of time. It's a cracking place, now all secure and great facilitiles but it really doesn't warrent that sort of money. As already stated the average angler will do 30 - 50 nights a year if lucky enough, so that's between 30 & 50 a night.
I'm honestly gutted as I love the place and have met so many good people there, but I can't justify that sort of money for the time I do. I just hope it doesn't ruin the place as the membership turn over is going to be very high year on year and they're loosing a lot of good people who know and care for the place and its residents........sad times.......

Multi Millionaire buys lakes, gives interviews about how carp fishing is outdated and out of touch, loads of praise.... then we're shocked when the prices go mental????

Yes. Why wouldn't people be shocked when told prices will stay the same and then go up 50% in one year. Fairly appropriate response.

Similar to my river syndicate - simple answer they were changing it to a fly trout water, stocking 1,000s to the detriment of coarse fish.

It is worth what anglers are prepared to pay, even if it is the few!

    Suffice to say I left!

The main problem is the amount of carp anglers these days, which helps to keep prices inflated. Whereas once upon a time, pleasure anglers had a float rod and a basket, now they have thousands of pounds worth of carp gear.
I long for the days when carp anglers were thought of as being eccentric weirdos and few and far between.
Maybe we need a cull !
