3 rods on one licence.
In an answer to a parliamentary question this week, Fisheries Minister George Eustice confirmed proposed changes to the licence from April 2017, including "a full year rolling licence rather than a fixed single season; a licence for a maximum of three rods rather than the current two and a free junior licence for anglers under the age of 16." These will be advertised formally in the Spring.
This incident was kindly posted up by wayne g earlier in the week, i asked for it to be removed.
I think it is in the interest of the Public, Linford Members & possible guests are made aware of the news below.
The Citizen 13/5/04 Page 3 (Mk Local Paper today)
The owner of a city fishery has been charged with serious assault
David Marle, aged 63, of Little Linford Lane, was charged with GBH with intent at Linford Lakes on Saturday. Mr Marle is due to appear before Milton Keynes Magistrates tommorow (Friday)."
It might not be a football terrace, but this sort of thing does happen, Lew, you must remeber the altocation between 2 of your current mates, on the pad lake a few years back (1996?) a big old shiner was dished out to the person who did not deserve it. The other guy gets off scott free.....
I am sure plenty of that happens around the country.
Knowing the fishery and the person concerned, I was amazed that it had taken till 2004 for something like this to occur..even more amazed that no one had done it in reverse order before now!
I used to be a member of said site, and following my own incident with the owner and his bar staff whilst trying to fish in peace and quiet handed back my key and sold my ticket..
As Dan has mentioned in another thread, probably the worst run fishery in the country.. It's a shame a few 'ghosts' could not speak or tell the truths of days past...they would make very interesting reading indeed..
I hope they lock him up... I fear however that he will manage to be comfortable with his final result..
I would say this to all existing members of the fishery... get your paperwork checked thoroughly by a professional person and dig further than the figures or facts you may be told... I did, and my desicion to leave was vindicated and I have vowed never to return with the current management in place... oh, I forgot, I can't anyway..I was banned from the site for what I posted in the past on the late Carp Talk forum..
Obviously, the truth hurt....
Would have been a cracking fishery if Len Gurd had managed to get the winning bid those years back..or did he?! ... let's hope this current debarcle leads to big changes and this fishery has the opportunity to become the great fishery many of us know it could be.
This is such a shame as the Linford complex is one of the finest in terms of angling opportunities that i have fished....i fished the '97 junior masters when i was a nipper and loved the place....strangely Mr Marle seemed pretty friendly back then....old age must be getting to him!! LOL
