    definately gets rammo.

Give Roy Parsons a call, his number is on their website under contacts

I have been over there and found particle to be the business. Hook baits were double tiger, one real one imitation.

Gets weedy in the summer months and weekday sessions tend to get you a wider choice of swims.

Gets very busy, try to go midweek if possible.
If St Johns is your 1st choice, but its packed, have a mooch round manor or hardwick. Some cracking fish to be caught and generaly they recieve less pressure, well hardwick at least.

St John's Cats grow big. 66lb the current lake record. One was caught last week at 61lb. Serious fish, best way to catch them is to fish carp style tatics. Halibut pellets are the favoured method. Bit of a hit and miss method with the low stock of cats and the large amounts of carp that out number them.

Cheers Screamer5, might give it a go. Do you know if livos are allowed and are pike present?

Pike are present and into the 30lb bracket. Not sure if lives are allowed. More info, pics and up to the date info can be found at www.linear-fisheries.co.uk Head for the lawn swims if after cats. Check the pic of the 66lb cat out and the first brace pic of carp of St Johns gallery is me on the left. Good luck!

I think the big cat has come out on sweetcorn in the past and I have spoken to guy who's brother caught it on a mackeral during a Pike fish in.

really?! I went in end June/early July, can't remember. I found it quite weedy, but then what I call weedy may be different. Is a funny old water, three fish were out that weekend, I had two of them both low doubles and the other was to a young lad in a swim about 3 down, 33lb mirror if I remember rightly! Was slightly envious!

I doubt I'll go again, been twice now and it get so busy.

The cat was caught by a friend of a friend and it was caught on a Frank Warwick PINK pop up. It must be a girl
Linear St Johns has got some great looking fish such as scaley and starburst but it gets packed. You can get bivys ever 10 yards around the lake and all you have to go at is a small strip of water in front of you and leaves little down to water craft as you are unable to move most the time. Best time is the winter or early spring when the fish move down to the far bay as people do not seem to want to fish down the far end.
