    Default Haggling in charity shops!

My wife volunteers in a charity shop for our local children's hospice.

It doesn't happen that often, but more and more customers are now haggling over what are already low prices.

    Would you do so?

Having been in a charity shop many times, my wife works in one, I have had to get between the counter and people to ask them to leave, its then they start shouting in their 'own language' that we should let them have things cheaper as they only have little money. They leave and later drive off in their BMW or MERC. I'm sick of them.

Put a notice in the shop, near the till, that states any ticket price is THE price and haggling will not be accepted.
Forgiveness is between them and God. My job is to arrange that meeting.

I used to do car boots a few years ago and it was the same - everyone wants something for nothing these days!

I used to haggle when I went to boot fairs. But I wouldn't dream of doing so in a charity shop.

It's not the haggling as such - it's the ridiculous offers people make on goods that are already well priced!
