September is the peak time for sardines. There's still plenty about
Edited for the sensitive prissy meow meows we entertain
Not sure mate tbh...but are you looking for fresh or frozen ?
I suppose it could be seasonal ? Just thinking of bbqs etc.
Look in the freezers mate.or maybe ask them if they can get some in for you. Worth a go. Beats paying £3 odd a pack in tackle shops.you used to get a kilo of them for about £2 !
Or....better still....look at these sites for pike baits
Baits direct
Online baits
I have ordered plenty of sea fishing baits from the above.always come still frozen following day in polystyrene boxes.

Always buy frozen! They cast like a rocket but care must be taken not to cast too hard as they can disintegrate very easily! A long baiting needle through from tail to head works with the hook in the hard head.
A slice or tail section - defrosted - will catch chub on single hooks.
Restaurants use frozen out of season.
Always buy frozen. I ask for them specifically at waitrose and they sell them to me in 1kg bags for about £3. Never had a problem getting them.

if your anywhere near heathrow anytime
Do people pop them up at all using them pop up sticks poly balls etc ?
If so...do you chop the head off and thread it through the body or connect it to the trace ?
I currently am fishing a weedy water and although I have been catching on bottom baits, with the pop up poly balls it just looks awful and untidy !

Cork balls of various sizes on eBay - cork being natural - unlike polystyrene balls!
Hair type extension on bottom treble is what I use.
