I was there to help weight and video her. What a stunning creature. I was only two swims down when he had it. I'm now sat back in my swim and shot to pieces God only know how Scott feels. Well done that man. Biggest authentic UK Common. Now come on you Burghfield Carp I need my fix !!!

A truly inspiring capture and one, for me, that is right up there with the greatest of our time.
    History made right there.

You lucky, lucky man! I sat speechless for 5 mins just looking at the pic, I cannot imagine seeing it in the flesh. Must have been breathtaking? I bet the captor is literally buzzing his head off. I'm blown away and I've never even been to Burghfield or met Scott lol....

Amazing fish, but one of the best captures of all time? Lol. With a bait boat, no way mate.
What makes this capture better than all the other's then? Because it's 62lb +???

I said "our time" not "all time" bud. The reason being he's had the common take his bait twice prior to the capture, once it wasn't hooked, next time he lost it (both without a boat). My point is he didn't drive a boat out to where the bulk of the fish were, he knew exactly what he was doing with it. He did what he had to to catch the fish, possibly the trickiest fish in the country to catch. When the last 4 captors in 10 years + have been oz, Hearn, lane and sharp you know it's a very very hard fish to catch. I hate bait boats but I won't take this away from the geezer. It's an amazing capture boat or no boat imo.
