Default Anyone fly fish for trout?

    Hi

Not quite corse fishing but not carp specific, please move if needed!

Just wondering if anyone actually did a little fluff chucking for trout on a lake?! I'm looking to get out but prefer to go with someone

    Cheers

I go very occasionally (I'm in Yateley, work in Slough) and usually head down to Robinswood in Frensham. Might be up for a joint trip or too, but tend to prefer small intimate waters, as I'm a properly awful caster!

fairly new to trout, usually head to pondwood for carp tbh.

Went to a small trout lake (well 2 small lakes) in Horsham the other week, was a nice day. Haven't been to the bigger popular waters yet.

Happy to arrange something big or small wherever is preferred

I went to a place called hazel copse. First lake just over 1 acre, next lake just over 2 acre. Only an hours drive from me when the m25 isn't jammed up. 20 for 1 fish then c&r all day. No website for it but I can vouch it's a lovely setting. Water was a bit cloudy but maybe was due to a lot of rain. Matey caught a 5lb rainbow and it looked very healthy. I'd definantly to there again.

if your not that great a caster, look for a water that you can go stalking on mate.

if you fancy a bit of stalking, and very big trout...look at lechlade/ bushyleaze. massive trout come out daily, been there twice myself and you see these monster trout just swimming round the edges...exciting stuff when you see a mid double have a follow of your fly,and the fight is brilliant !
ok..bit expensive for a day ( upto 60 quid ) but seriously if you want a monster trout..have a wonder to these lakes, right next to horseshoe lake.

they have a FB page too of daily catches

I've been fly fishing since i was a nipper. Try sportfish in Theale as that's close to you. Nice water and the shop are run but very good fly anglers and will be able to answer all your questions.

Fancy going up market for some monstrous things then there is Dever Springs or Avington.

    Good luck

Or if you fancy a day out Chew is great fun for trout...

If you use bigger flies like catswhisker etc I would suggest a trace as you may get a croc this time of year on small lure patterns...

Very big perch in there also!

Yeah Olly, Avington is a lovely, great stalking water... some nice carp in the far end lake and very big eels in all three as well.

    You tried lechlade ?

Some big browns in there and rainbows to 18lb or so. Good for stalking too
