    cant believe this !!!

just had an e-mail from a Nigerian fella saying he wants to give me 5 million quid, all hes asking for is a plane ticket to luton

just looked on easyjet, and found a flight for 30 quid.

    worth a go or not,un-decided ??

got my suspicions as I don't think easyjet fly to Nigeria ?

Ditto Tenchtamer, I use JR quite regularly and I never received a hoax e-mail from someone claiming to be them, therefore I'd be confident to say that they can't be held responsible for any breach of security via their 3rd party.

    TAKE CAUTION: Fraudulent emails notification
    Dear Customer,

Today we have been made aware that fraudulent emails are being sent to individuals falsely claiming to be sent by Johnson Ross Tackle.

This is a copy of an email which was sent 2 weeks ago. We have had an internal security check carried out and 2 independent security checks carried out.

We also have 24hr monitoring of our website and data base by an independent security company. We have had no notification of breaches of security.

The design of these emails very closely matches our email templates, and the email address that appears has been spoofed which makes it very hard for the recipient to tell the difference.

These emails are being sent to both customers and non customers alike, and are not the result of a data breach, this is purely a scam and we are doing everything in our power to get to the bottom of it.

Johnson Ross will never send unsolicited emails, we will only respond to enquiries or send order notification. We will never ask you to follow a link to a payment and would recommend if you ever receive an email with our name attached that does, delete it immediately.

For peace of mind Johnson Ross Tackle holds no payment details as we use World pay and Paypal, which will direct you to their own secure payment portal.

If anyone has entered payment details we would recommend you contact your bank immediately.

Sorry for any inconvenience this email may have caused anyone.

    Sincere regards,

    All at Johnson Ross Tackle

This afternoon i also received the johnson ross email warning about fraudulent mail i would imagine it is being sent to everyone on their database. On both occasions that the dodgy emails were sent i didn't receive either, it does suggest to me that they weren't from a breech of their database and they are also the victim in this matter.
