Same here, I thought it was a real waste. Then I watched that and it's great. Also been searching for other bits on youtube. Can't find it right now but there's a good one on installing a program that clears your cache every time you log out. Good tip that for stopping buffering and slowing things down

I installed a new Kodi build yesterday afternoon as I was a bit bored and had watched a video by a guy who builds his own builds and I thought Id give it a try and Im glad I did as it was excellent, so if your thinking of a new Kodi look check out Charlie Tec's video where he shows and tells. Ps. I watched "The Grand Tour" in HD after I had installed it and it looked awesome.

Does that mean i'd have to download all of my add-ons and get all of my settings just right again, or is it just an overall new look like a skin and won't affect what's there already?

You just download it to your machine in the normal way System/File Manager/Add source etc and its fully loaded, on the TV page there is a tab called "Network" with all the TV netwoks in it and in there I found Amazon where I found the Grand Tour, I havent got round to automating it yet although I did ditch a couple of slow repos. Oh and I got it wrong the build is not his, I guess his video just tell you how to install the Gen-Tec Simple-Tec v1. build. A couple of the live TV links didnt work but thats par for the course I guess as they always drop off after a while but generally its a neat build. He als has some other decent videos too.

I kinda like the concept but just way too busy for me. I prefer minimalistic design and usage

Yes I know what you mean but I just like trying different builds once the one Ive been using becomes old and buggy rather than updating the build ive been using, the best build ive used so far was SpinzTV but I tried that again recently and it obviously hadnt been updated and wasnt as good as it was last year. Im always open to try anything new so let me know what you use and if ive not tried it ill give it a go. After all it only takes half an hour or so to fdo a fresh install of a new build.

I'm so 'old skool' thart i'm just using the basic Kodi build. I did install Pegasus (I think) when I first got the box but hated it and went back to the original.I do like the one on that youtube clip but there's so much to it - i'm just trying to get the missus into using it a lot more to maybe one day cut down on my tv channels I pay for. I've given her two add ons to play with (Exodus & Zen) and she's just about getting used to those. Imagine if I installed that new one!

That looks like directions to install the Metal Kettle wizard to install the Metal Kettle build. I used that a few years back but not tried it recently, is it any good?
