    Question Gardner TLB Alarms

I want to get some new roller wheels in mine and remove the protective cover. Kudos make the wheels, but without too much investigation (haven't had time) I'm not sure how to remove the wheels?

Has anyone done it? Could you talk me through the process?

Hi mate...i have tlbs with kudos custom rollers....
Simple to fit....ease/unclip the little metal roller cover ....just ease it out gently with a small screw driver....then get a large paper clip, you will see a small hole either side of the roller on the brackets, use the paper clip to push out the roller pin.
Pull pin most of way out so that original black rollers are free and remove them from bracket.
Get your kudos rollers and line pin back up with holes and push it through roller and back into housing bracket....put little roller cover back if u wish....i didn't bother...

    Good old TLB's!
{smiled when I saw a thread about them)

The original has a higher grip material that teh roller is made from... and the cover reduces rick of frosting..
    Common sense design..
Older than an old thing - but still a good thing..

Mine are a recent purchase, but 2nd hand! I absolutely love them. I wanted to get some nice white Roller wheels fitted. But if the material is different I might not, my bobbins are mega lightweight.
Also, I asked Lewis via Facebook for some of the battery Gasket seals, which were kindly sent back to me in a SAE envelope FREE of charge! Great service!

Looking forward to a long and happy life with them

Had mine about 15 years, don't use them often, but when I turn them on they work like clockwork - what more can you ask for?

    Just ordered some white rollers!

On a side note, I replaced the batteries and gasket seals. The seal that was already on there was "stuck" to the alarm. The new ones weren't adhesive backed, I just placed them in the correct position and tightened the back plate back on. Does it need some kind of sealant around the edge? Vaseline or something? Or will the pressure from the back plate be enough.

    Hello pike0!

The neoprene seal between the housing and the back plate is fine on it's own. Compression when fitting the back plate will create the seal and ensure it's waterproof.

They were originally potted to fully waterproof them, but about 15 years ago the neoprene gasket was introduced. This has the benefit of sealing the battery compartment in as well.

    Tried and tested bombproof goodness.
