    Question Washed out boilie colouring

    Hi guys,

I've been making my own cork ball pop ups and would like some advice on colouring and achieving a washed out look please. Is it just best to mix the target colour with white dye to achieve this?

I'm currently looking to make a pale pink, so was considering buying red and mixing with white?

    Has anyone had any success?

    Thanks in advance,

P.S Mods, think we still need a bait section

Thanks Toby, I tried that first, but haven't heard back yet, so thought I'd put the question to forum too.

i can answer this for you. have three ways... First buy a pink base mix n mix with white base mix, DT fluro n polaris work well together. Alterantively mix a pink and white dye with the egg, cc moore is very good as doesnt leach out the bait, or thirdly a small pinch of pink dye in egg and a white base mix. Several ways. I prefer a pre-dyed base mix and mixing polaris in, as i can then adjust as needed. but i find a 50/50 of each works best and gives baits a nice constancy.

    Thanks.
I'm using Cell base mix and have been adding white to achieve a lighter washed out look, so considering addding a little red to that and see how it looks. I soak the cork balls in the Yolk, so using only the white should allow me to see the colour in just the egg white before applying the mix. Lots of theory, so will give it a go soon.
