    Default groundbait

I have never used groundbait before I was just wondering if I should mix it before I go or when I get there

Mix it when you are there as it is lighter to carry dry rather than wet.

Add liquid to powder a little at a time, mix thoroughly, allow it to 'sit' for a while to asorb liquid, add more liquid if required and all important, put it through a groundbait riddle to remove lump and aerate the mix.

I mix it the night before and use a zip up ground bait bowl add whatever flavourings to the water ,make sure you dont use tap water (out of a water butt) riddle it,for me it feels better to use, also it saves time on the bank ,also if you use the preston 20 litre(I think) zip up bait bowl you can also stick bait boxes, bags of hemp ect ect in quite easy and it has two carry handles

If you riddle it, doesnt the aeration get negated when you squeeze it to lob it in?

It removes lumps for starters. Ask why match anglers riidled ground bait, it's only meant to be a carrier/attractor and not have any food value.

For mud pigging, any old lumpy tosh will do.

No, but it removes lumps that you will get, and allows you to tailor the mix to work exacly how you want it to.

Usually mix it when I get there, mix it first then set everything up then riddle it then add what bits of bait you want .

As already said its a bit heavy to carry already mixed, used to go match fishing and a 6 or 7 field walk wasnt funny lol.
