    Default live links

Since the forum changed I've noticed that some mods are still deleting these while others aren't, so what's the ruling now?

And if they're still not allowed can I ask why?

Keeping the current "rules" until the new ones have been agreed/posted.

Thinks there was going to be a mod/admin get together type thing at some point?

Yep, admin have told us to moderate as per the Cemex rules.

There is a meeting coming up in the near future where New Rules are being discussed and formulated.

The reason is to stop phising attacks from live links on the forum.

If you cut and paste a web address contained in a post into your URL browser then that will be the site you end up at. If you click a live hyperlink it is possible the hyperlink has been corrupted to take you to a completely different site.
Forgiveness is between them and God. My job is to arrange that meeting.

But if you hover over the link and its something different to that on the screen then your stupid for clicking on it.

And as much, if not more, can be hidden in embedded pictures, something we are allowed

To be fair, you could make that laughing smilie on the end of Mr_Bumps post a link to whatever type of unsavory material you wished fairly easily if you so wished

Well you could on the old forum anyway.

All valid points - the op was about live links.

Raising security awareness is about getting people to not click live links as a matter of course. How many people here check the real destination of the URL before they click it?

I did that on here a while back, though it wasn't necessarily unsavoury, more dirty.
    Lots of love
