More like 4 swims plus the speed boats zipping up & down in front of you all day !
Think they're mugging you off at £500

Totally agreed 4 swims max which would also be crap if all were fished at the same time. If two are fished it pushes the fish away as it is!!
Keith - please pass on any info that you may have with regards to fishing on the lake. Not to sure what all the secrecy is all about, just trying to find out who has the fishing rights on the remainder of the lake and hopefully get my name down.
Any info lads please give us a PM.
Cheers,
Still dont have any info on the fishing rights for most of the lake so anyone out there who knows please shout.....
As for the fishing you will need to do alot of leg work walking the banks time and time again. Location, location, location is what its about. Cheers Keith.
Cheers Keith - happy with the lake mate, fished it a few seasons on and off - just need to find out who is running the other bit of the lake not Rawlings back part. Working away abroad at the moment and just trying to sort my fishing out for the season, didn't realise that it was all secret squirrel on who bought the lake, not too sure what that is all about........it's only fishing, not Area 51.....
All the best...
Gonna be a lot easier to walk round this year....
Don't think there's any 'secret squirrel's' going on,
the simple truth is the new owner is not interested in fishing, fishermen or anyone's point of view!
(and yes I do know him) he's brought it as a long term investment.
Certain parties THOUGHT they would get it and advertised the fact but,
through the actions of ....shall we say...over enthusiastic 'storm troopers' rubbing people close to the new owners associates up the wrong way, it appears they are NOT in the possition they THOUGHT they were.
So,
What does this all mean?
Cemex DON'T own the lake any more (ownership transfered back in November).....the 'storm troopers' and 'Darth Vader' have NOT been appointed by the new owner (he won't even talk to Darth) so have NO power to check permits dispite their belief, just ask them who their boss is!
Certain parties as previously advertised have NO power to check permits
The owner doesn't care
Put all this together and what have you got????
Happy days!!!
Cheers for the Star Wars Cryptic clues.....was only after info on fishing the lake and out the loop on what ever Darth Vader and Chewbacca have been up to.
I think the new owner is making a mistake by not having a small syndicate of anglers fishing their, not only will this line his/her pocket with a few quid, it will also ensure that Anglers and a good bailiff crew have "eyes on" the water and can police it to a certain extent. Without this presence you are leaving the doors open and that pit will become another Mere, as long as there is a hoofin great Common and big large mirrors swimming in it's depths, you will get people fishing it, legally or illegally. Look at the Mere, 10 on during the week boating around the place not giving a monkeys, if you think Burghfield will be any different, you are mistaken. 90 acre pit with loads of places and islands tucked away, with the bounty of a 50 + Common or Mirror........
This is not to mention poaching and removal of fish......
Be lucky,
Thanks for that Kim2, i heard that JM has the lake? I ran Rainbow Lake many moons ago when it was just comimg to light and sent the first uk anglers to it, so if you know him would you be able to pass contact detail? please PM me or call 07771663534. Cheers
I think you both have missed the point.
He doesn't care! He regards anglers as a pain in the backside.
The actions of the 'few' only re enforce his view!
He won't even talk to anyone!
Thanks for info Kim2. Lets hope the lake can remain somewhere we can fish without to many idiots showing up and trashing the place. I do worry about fish being moved etc if there is no control. What a sad day for a cracking "real" carp water.
Wouldn't want to get on the new owners badside![]()

You're not wrong!
Have any of you bothered contacting the guy who is only controlling the tiny bit? He is in negotiations for the rest and £500 is the price for the whole thing if he gets it. It will also be a small hand picked syndicate with no novices or numptys.
Its only worth talking if he has the right. £500 is also a massive increase for a non secure lake with everthing else that goes with fishing there.
500 quid is a joke and fair play to anglers that pay for it - reality pill will soon set in after 50 + nights on a blank.....
50+ night blank on Burghfield? You'd have to be doing something very wrong to pull that off. I did 3 nights tench fishing on there last season and had 3 carp to 35lb. There are so many fish in there now that its harder to avoid them than catch them![]()
