i fancy a go at catching a few of these little gems and i"m looking for a bit of advice.i plan to do my fishing on the summer pit at yateley.

Crucians believe it or not can be hard to catch.... I have always fished for them close in using lightish tackle and the lift method with the float. I have found that flake over liquidised bread is a good method, single grain of corn and of course maggots... maggots tend to attract the small roach, rudd & Perch though. Once you get them feeding feed in little and often to keep them there...... don't go ultra light as there is a chance of you hooking some Tench & maybe carp. If the going it tough bread punch sometimes works as well.

I don't know if it's to far to travel, but the Chigborough venue (small lake) has some lovely crucians. As Tony mentioned above, fish light next to the lily pads, with single grain of sweetcorn, magic! But watch out for he tench...
