View Full Version : What's the most carp you've caught in a day?

Visited a local small carp runs/match type venue yesterday for a muck about. Hardly had time to sit still! 30 runs between 8.30 and 4.30, 27 landed only fish in the 5-10lb range but makes a change from the usual 'fishing for one bite' type of angling....

I was ****ing knackered when I got home though lol time to get back into blanking for a rest. Good fun but beats me how people do that sort of fishing every trip out!

Anyone exceeded that total?!!! http://www.cemexangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif

About 16 or so in a similiar sort of time, I only used one rod on the method and got bored. Wandered off and caught a double off the top.
I ended up unhooking quite a few in the net just for ease.

to be honest it got very boring in the end as You didn't need to try and catch them they just threw themselves at the bait.........will go back but only for amid week evening session of a few hours in the summer for a bit of stalking or surface light gear fun.

Best I had was 11 in a morning session, from about 6-14lb. I had had enough by lunch time and went some where else in the afternoon.

Has to be Thorpe for me too. Fished from 9am - 1pm one time and had 14 fish all between 11 & 17lbs.

As nice as it was to be catching, it did get boring after a while, so reeled in and went home smiling.

50 + off the surface 5-12lb range in a day session, all on chum mixers from a runs water. But perhaps a bit better than that is 8 takes in 2.5 hours 2 upper doubles, 3 20s 2 lost 20s & a mid 30 from a pretty tough water that you & I both know. Or 2 in my lunch break from another tough water nearby!!!!!!

best day's fishing was last year. first week in feb. chuffin freezin but workin on shift so had tuesday wednesday off. rocked up at around 10am and fished single tutti fruttis on mono links with big chucks to deeper water in the middle of the mere. i had 11 takes in 24hrs resulting in 2 x twenties (best 21.12) and 7 doubles ( lowest 12.08). it dropped to minus 7 at night and all the takes happened in a 14 hr period. being in cheshire this made it all the more sweeter! http://www.cemexangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

16 Feb 2005. 2 rods, 7 hours, 16 takes 13 landed, 8 unweighed (14-18ish), 19.00, 19.06, 20.02, 24.02 + winter target fish for the year, Arfur (dorsal) the common (RIP) @ 26.09.

I'm sure I've caught more (2004 BCAC qualifier @ Thorpe Lea was nuts) and I've definitely caught bigger but that is most definitely the session that was my personal 'Red Letter Day' in terms of number of carp caught, mainly because of the time of year (freezing cold February ffs!) and the fact that I caught my target fish to top it all off. I got it right that day...............

22 in a day at a day ticket lake in Essex upto 19lb 4oz (PB at the time)

What made it better was everyone else on the lake, including the people either side of me, were blanking their butts off http://www.cemexangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Was I not popular that day http://www.cemexangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.cemexangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Off the surface - I have had 16 before work, 07:00 - 09:00 up to 16lbs+. If I remember correctly, there were 5 people bivvied up at the other side of the lake and they had one 12lb'der between them during the night. Used bit of yellow foam to save time having to bait up.

Off the bottom - my best session has been 11 before work up to low 20's.

Lunchtime, best has been 5 fish to 18+.

I do a lot off of before work sessions. Bait up at daybreak, back home for breakfast and sneak in on the way to work. Great way to start the day.

The most numbers for me was 26 in a day mostly doubles from a day ticket water in Ringwood.

The best numbers with size was 5 20s in 3 hours on Oxlease and 4 20s and a 30 in a day 2 yrs ago on a syndicate water I fished last year...(if only every day session was like this)
