You can use barbed hooks
you wont go wrong with good quality frozen boilies.
Oxlease is the easier water on the complex with most fish in it..
I suggest you give the bailif a call as he will inform you on the latest goings on, and, the head bailif has a lot of time for respectful carpers.
All the best mate, Hope you catch a pb

If its anything like it was during the Xmas/New Year break, youd be better of taking a crow bar to make yourself some room...

2 of us had a look December 27th.. 0 pegs available on Oxlease, and only 2 available on Brasenose 1 each at opposite ends of the lake,

oh... and 4 or 5 people waiting in the car park for people to move off, with kit on the barrow....

Wish i had of rang now!!!

got to agree with Kenty on this, used to be really nice place for a social a few years back before the publicity went crzy. I havent gone back after mates of mine kept driving there only to turn around casue they couldn't get a swim.

Must admit that I have fished Oxlease a number of times a few years back when there was only one or two thirties present. Never had trouble getting a swim then.
Thought I'd pay a visit recently to get a bend in the rod and struggled to get a swim.

I went to Brasenose 1 in November (fireworks weekend) and there were only 6-10 people on then. Maybe something to do with the fireworks. Oxlease was almost full as was St.john's. Even if you do phone it is still a lottery as to whether or not it will be busy.
