What have you found to be the best sweetener on the market ? i'm trying to create a savoury bait and just want to take a bit of bitterness off without turning them into sweets or creating a sweet smelling bait, looked at Talin but trying to keep costs down as much as possible. Have also been told that Thaumatin powder and some of the commercially availble sweeteners can leave an aftertaste ?? anybody used CCMoores intense crystals ??

Could you please advise where would be the best place to get Brewers Yeast ( would unbittered be better) ?

Calf Milk Replacer is there any difference in quality between for eg - Lamlac and BOCM Gold top etc..

any links for any of the above would be very much appreciated

I personally just use pure fructose as a sweetener. Its cheap, and natural.

There are differences between lamlac and gold top - you will have to hunt around for what they are, I think its fat content (skimmed vs semi). I just buy lamlac from ccmoore, found it to be excellent.

you can buy bottles of liquid sweetener from supermarkets, it's saccharin based but does the job.

My favourite is John Bakers dairy cream sweetener, it has a lovely pallette to it, unlike other more bitter sweeteners. You dont need much either, if its just ebing used to soften the bitterness!

Otherwise just plain old fructose http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif
