I note that Fishers Green has been closed by RMC because of the Foot & Mouth scare (SEE CATCH REPORTS).
Is it all of the fishery closed. I was intending to go piking tomorrow!

I think most clubs are closing if they are within a 5 mile promity of a livestock farm...

I could be wrong, but I'm sure Ian would have said if a certain area at FG was fishable ! Take it as all being closed to be on the safe side.

I do believe that the whole of the Lea Vally Parks is closed so that would affect all waters from the Thames to beyond Waltham Abbey

Thank god for that at least I won't have to drive all that way to blank again.

Me to, im behind them all the way.
With only a few weeks left of the season perhaps we should call it a day and have a longer close season.

Does anyone know if the Lea Navigation at Waltham abbey is still open.ie can we fish from the towpath

It's not the moving of the Cattle Paul...... it's a precautionary measure... they recon this disease can be infectious in the wind and that's probably why they made the decision.

I thought I'd heard that everything round there was closed except the Abbey itself!

I believe that the whole of the Lea Valley Park is closed including the towpaths North of the M25. I also seem to remember Hayes Hill farm having a diary herd at the very least.
( plus about five water buffalo?? Gary has seen them!)

Has the code been changed at Ryemeads, just spent half hour trying to unlock it.
Or has it been got at, there are no notices up as at at the site to say it has been shut.

Is it thought that FG is now closed for rest of season. Do I spend the days I have booked as annual leave to go fishing there next Monday - Wednesday cleaning my tackle instead?
