Been noticing holes in weed, but these patches are in short weed. the patches are all dark not like when they have been cleaned. Are these old areas?or new ones just starting to be fed on? http://www.cemexangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif

hi tibbles,
probably not being fed on if they not clean, fish them by all means sounds a good spot but keep your eyes peeled for the shiny spots.

Do the shiny spots start off like this and turn shiny after a period of time?No real shiny spots around this area. http://www.cemexangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif

the shiny spots develop by the fish cleaning off the silt whilst feeding. chuck a handful of particle or a few crushed boilies on em and keep an eye on them

Exactly...
Once they have been fed on they are shiny, but whilst they are being fed on they arent so shiny...

You sly old dog . . . . http://www.cemexangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif

But quite true . . . . . . if the spots are 'glowing' chances are they've been and gone . . . . . unless it's seeing regular bait to keep them visiting . . . . and by then eveyone and their dog has probably spotted the area http://www.cemexangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

what is the bets way to create a hole in weed??

would the classic of using hemp and particle be good enough to create a hole in weed which, for example - 6' growing from the bottom upwards??

Cheat, mate. Tell all the local tench anglers that someone BAGGED up on the green slimers by raking out a swim and feeding it with hemp.

Sit back, and watch the noddies do your work for you. Then move in when they go home at tea time, and Robert is your Father's Brother!

Works every time.
