was there for 24 hours at a swim called 'Alans' and had one take at 2am, and what a take it was, it screamed and after a 10minutes fight I landed an immaculate 17lb mirror carp. Only had the one take over 24 hours but if I go there a few times IÂ’m sure I can have more.
Really nice place though, exactly what IÂ’m looking for, not to hard (like Sandhurst is at the mo) and not really easy (like Thorpe lee) but also with a good chance of catching some 20's and possible a 30!
I'm definitely going back. http://www.cemexangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Well done mate, carps a carp at the end of the day. Don't ignore Sandhurst lake can be better than South lake http://www.cemexangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif

can it though? I was down there the other week and no one on the whole lake caught while I was there.

From my experience both lakes can be fairly moody, and the South can be fairly 'swimmy', e.g. get in the car park disabled swims for as close as a guaranteed catch as you can get...

yea people did seem to be catching less the further away from the car park.
really nice place though, I think better than sandhurst as sandhurst is just a big pit. I'll be going back to both soon though!

It depends on what your after really. I have only fished Sandhurst lake but before my week there I asked alot of people which lake was better Sandhurst or South and most said Sandhurst. Some people where saying that South was full of doubles and it can take a while before you get a 20lb but then on Sandhurst many said that you will get less action but when you did get a run it would be a high chance it would a better fish.
Up to you what you want from your fishing http://www.cemexangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/cool.gif
