Is it true that Wraysbury 1 and Kingsmead Island lake are to become Special venues as apposed to their original status of Syndicate waters?

Is there a posting/link? Would like to read any comments relating to it.

IMHO Wraysbury should be a syndicate always.

I wouldn't hold my breath for too much out of the island. Think about why both these lakes are being put on the Coverall, to increase sales. If the island had an awesome stock, it would be sold out wouldn't it.

Wouldnt it?????

Not being funny here Claus, but how often have you fished either of these venues? or any of the others you "Seem" to know so much about?

Thesem are both waters which hold appeal for a certain type of angler, anglers with dedication and effort in equal amounts, not for the faint hearted. RMC have changed their status for a reason, but i'm sure they made sure to consult you before doing so.......

you could look at it this way, cos there arent any hard facts available - people arent willing to part with their money

Strange move if it's got 10+ 40's then (1 rumour I heard)

Exactly why I think they should stay syndicate. Anyway, seem s to be a few handbags out around here today. I'll just tuck myself away over here now....

Being on the coverall won't change things much.....as Coops says, they're a certain type of water that attracts a certain kind of angler.......if you really wanted to fish it and take the challenge, you'd pay the syndicate price.
My guess is that after an intial burst of activity......things will soon go somewhat quiet again.....as the less dedicated go elsewhere.
Hopefully there will be an influx of extra anglers on the island lake as this may help with any 'security' issues....

.....and RMC might get to find out what's in there!

Agree totally. RMC have always struggled to fill both syndicates. Places have been available for both at a moments notice. I've always fancied W1 for the pike and perch???, but joining the syndicate for what equates to a few months of the year has never appealed.

influx of anglers? remember, talk is cheap.

may i take this opportunity to remind all members attempting to visit the islands: ANYONE found out in a boat without a PROPER lifejacket or in possession of a current boat permit will be dealt with swiftly and accordingly.

thankyou. fish safe kids, fish safe.

i am supprised you are allowed to use a boat at present , due to quote ' the result of our health and safety deliberations 'have been carried out .surely a rule applied to one venue should be enforced on all . After all now im wheel barrowing my kit round w1 surely you guys on the puddle they call kingsmead should be doing the same . http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

guys please calm down, yes both are now Special Waters and open this spring (see you on no1 tcp http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif)

Kingsmead Island spring ticket £50 per two rods
W1 spring ticket £60 per two rods

full season ticket (june 16th onwards) island £80 per two rods
W1 £80 per two rods.

currently there is no boating whatsoever, spoken to Sue about it.

Guys I was on the W1 syndicate when it first went syndicate in 1994 (?) and it has never been full, at least now it is available to specimen hunters as well, at a more reasonable price.

im just waiting for someone to catch out of springates or secret ready , remember no wading , in the 6 inches of water to net fish , no sacking so when you catch that kipper and your mates wants to see it . He is going to have to pack his gear away , barrowing over a mile under trees , through narrow paths left for nature ( which is how it should be ) sliping and sliding along the trench worn out by a hundred barrows , passing derelict punctured barrow carcasses . All the time you are on the edge of the lake with fish in net held at arms length ( causing extra stress than a sack would ) for upto an hour ( or longer if the bloke gets a puncture ). He is going to be knacked , you arm is starting to get heavy , and the fish is starting to look a bit [censored] off.

so to put my point accross when i catch , i will save you the hassle and photo my self ..And when or if you catch , then well done , dont expect me to come around . And also the paths should be left as they are , wild . After all the cause of the problems was kids removing the boats natural bouyancy and leaving a 6 inch hole . SAD BUT TRUE ..

i hope you like my fishing rod marks , nice common 2

When wraysbury was syndicate, was it normally closed during the spring?? So this will be the first spring it has been fished???

tcpcrewontour
09-02-2005, 15:49
if that is the case should be limited tickets , offered to existing members 1st , or what about letting us have the time weve lost out on , and letting new members fish once we have been given what we ahve paid for , my ticket runs out end march + i have lost a month , and lost some mates , and all i have are the memories .

so in my oppinion new members should be allowed on may 1st ... is that not fair RMC / IAN

DanCleary
09-02-2005, 15:58
no this is not the first time it has been open in the spring, think the last spring it was open was 98 or 99???

well im confussed , do i get a discount or do i have to buy another ticket from march 15th , when my ticket runs until march 31st , + all the time the lake was closed i lost out on time for which i had paid , does not seem very fair ,

free spring tickets all round for existing members , or some people are going to get earache with that phone ringing all day ..

DanCleary
09-02-2005, 16:10
well, i'd say give sue a call, then you know exactly where you stand geez.

I have no problem with self take shots 80% of my captures over the last 10 years are exactly that.

DanCleary

Dan,has it been reopened in the spring to keep off the undisireables we r talking about on the poachers thread ?

DanCleary
09-02-2005, 16:42
poachers is problem on W2 and nearby waters, not so sure on W1, steve would know the score on that?

W2 would never open in spring fella, more likely to become a nature reserve than fishing be allowed in spring.

Mate, the majority of the island lake is overgrown. Most swims can only be accessed via boat and the few that are accessable are usually taken during the warmer months. Undesirables are also a real problem on there so fishing out of the way also eleviates this. Without a boat on the island you may as well give away your gear and tie both your hands behind your back!!!!
