I have moved to Stafford from Aldershot and am looking for any decent Carp waters in the local vicinity, can anyone point me in the right direction????

I am only interested in fishing for ENGLISH fish, so no time wasters or foreigners please.

By the way, after a walk round the Car Park last week-end, its good to see that "Care in the community" is still being practised!!!!!!!

Its just iover 5 years since I lived in Staffs, but the following may be of interest:

PATSHULL PARK (nr Wolverhampton) - 2 lakes the great lake and church lake, great looking commons to 35ish.

POOL HALL (nr Wolverhampton) - used to be day ticket with fish to 30lbs, plenty of low doubles.

CALF HEATH (off south staffs M6) - I think its a season ticket, fish to 28lbs.

CASTLE MERE (syndicate nr Stafford) - small picturesque lake containing fish in excess of 30lbs.

STOW POOL (Lichfield) - Day ticket, used to have (maybe still does) hold Humpy who was over 30lbs.

KNIGHTON RESERVOIR - Syndicate - must know a member to gain entry.

DODDINGTON HALL LAKE - (A51 nr Stapeley) season ticket available from Cudmore Fisheries, 3 fish over 30lbs plus some stunning 20's.

TRENTHAM GARDENS - not sure about now - 90 acre lake with fish to 25lbs+.

WESTPORT LAKE - (Stoke on Trent) local club ticket, 30x20's up to 34lbs.

I know the canals around Stafford have done fish to 25lbs+ in the past, they maybe a bit bigger now.

Other Club tickets worth considering,
Stoke-on-Trent AS - they have Redesmere & Capesthorne nr Macclesfield.
Hanley AC - they have a couple of waters in Staffs with fish over 20lbs, small lakes though.
Stone Private AC - they have several farm pools around Stone area, fish to upper doubles.
Also Potteries AC & Fenton AS may be worth closer inspection.

My knowledge of these lakes and clubs is going back a few years, so the stockings and control of these waters may have changed, the above should give you something to go on, good luck.
