View Full Version : Cash in with a big one!!!

Just had a text from Cash, he's had a 36.04 from Sandhurst for the camera's, during a filming session for the new Gardner video's. Not sure which fish.

Well done mate.

Was the lake busy? http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Well done Cashy

have had the fish confirmed as Cracker......out yet again...and nearly a pound up on its last capture 3 weeks ago.... http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

apparently from the pipes......though Cash was reported as sleeping like a baby in the car park swim at 6.30 this morning so not sure....

13-09-2004, 11:16
Midnight chuck from the pipes ... well done Cashie http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

13-09-2004, 11:37
Just had another update, 23 common & 24 mirror too, he's on a roll.

13-09-2004, 11:40
450 carp... LOL

13-09-2004, 13:01
...and the lake to yourself when they've been having it big time over the last couple of weeks..... http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif to be honest in excess of 10 fish in 24 hours should be easily achievable for cash i'd have thought - i've managed that when the lake was rammed...only once mind but..... http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

13-09-2004, 13:06
especially for a man of his calibre eh Funky!

13-09-2004, 13:10
too right http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

14-09-2004, 19:50
Oooooo all the little jibes and bites - you love it all don't yer!!
YES the lake was closed. WHY because we had a video to shoot, believe it or not they actually cost more than what most people earn in a year, plus have deadlines, has to booked way in advance, and you have to rely on the weather being good, oh yeah you also have to catch otherwise it's pretty boring viewing.
Arrived at midnight, after chatting with Garth & Billy I set up (Pipes) swims and cast out at 3am. Had the 23 at 5am, recast and had the 36 at 7.30am. Had the 24 later that morning, and then the swim went dead. Lost a couple today. (I didn't bait, just used bags as this was the method I'd chose to show on the vid, whereas Garth opted to fish over a big bed of bait)
Garthy's swim started to produce late yesterday, but came on big style today. He bagged about 11including a new PB common of 28lb live for the camera, and 3 other mid-twenties and lost 2.
We totally enjoyed the session and have showed a variety of different day-ticket methods and tactics with some proper results - job done.
As for Funky having fun. Your result came from the secret swim fishing along the NO fishing bank (baiting from there etc) oh and you are a bailiff on there and had been fishing the lake constantly for at least a year!!!!! Puts that comment into perspective don't it!
PS: Garth's only fished Sandy 4 times, and I've only done 24hrs on there (before this week) in the last 3 years!
PPS: Thanks everyone for the congrats.

14-09-2004, 23:24
An awesome fish for cash, and a top result. From what I saw it was actually a bit of very good angling!

As for the head bailiff which obviously saw cash under the unbrella (actually billy) in the car park, im just glad the fish he caught when I was there still has two pecs!

Funky, as for your coments, lets put them in perpective. The amount of fish you have had from the lake you are on this season so far, I had in a week last year (over nighters only, oviously http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif ), and I never baited up on anyone once http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif Mind you I did know the lake, so I would hope to catch more thab irreculars

The above comments were just to show that every now and then a noddy can get lucky http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I wouldnt normally have made this post, but it actually quite knarked me!

Guys, we're all just jelous. We'd all love a lake like sandhurst to ourselves.

But 90% of fishing day ticket waters is having to compete with hoard of other anglers of differing and varying levels of ability. Wouldn't showing this on a video make more acurate viewing? I understand they cost money and deadlines are tight and you have to perform to order (never easy) But having a day ticket lake to yourselves is hardly a realistic view of day ticket angling that all your punters do. How many bloke in blue argos tents cast over you lines while you were there? http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Anyway, well done on the fish. Look forward to the video http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif What's it going to be called?

15-09-2004, 08:37
and it's a screamer..... chaps....you KNOW i was only messing.....and had congratulated cash offline via text message - which let's face it if i was trying to devalue his capture I wouldn't do would i....and what would that genuinely serve anyway except to devalue all the fish I've had out of there....derrrr http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif....i'm never the one who said sandhurst was really easy anyway (runs water was someone else's comment!!!!!)...

as for any bailiff seeing cash in the car park - i know they didn't - case of chinese whispers mate - didn't realise you two would be so tetchy or even consider it relevant that i'd have to publicly correct that....as for the head bailiff's fish care - if you have something to say then maybe you wish to pm me.

toys and prams is all i have to say....let's have some peace love and understanding....

oh and well done all.......but as for discussing the OTHER lake - well i'd rather you didn't as I'm not....my results or otherwise from there i'll keep off open forum thanks. http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/mad.gif http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Well done on the fish mate! Hope you got all the video footage you needed.
As for the "Anglers" who seem to knock results these days, take your head out of your [censored] and realise it is life. [censored] happens. Personally, I don't believe in shutting a lake, but why on earth people have to whinge about it. Lake gets shut, YOU whinge, lake stays shut, DEAL WITH IT or take up Golf.
Right I'm off fishing to try and catch a fish, Whingers try it, radical I know, but nice, instead of sat behind a screen dripping or do you lot prefer the online fishing. Pathetic http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif

15-09-2004, 10:27
Bit strong Barney, Don;t think anyone is having a pop. Just wondering how you can do a video on day ticket methods when the lake is shut to all other day ticket anglers. A luxury no day ticket angler could ever get.

Fish still need to be caught and catching some nice fish is always a result, good angling. But if the video is marketed at day ticket angling, fishing with 18 other people on the lake and lines everywhere would have made the results much more of a top reslut, surely. And day ticket anglers would be able to relate to the methods used.

I love internet angling by the way http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif I get my best results on here. Already landed 2 personal bests this morning http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

15-09-2004, 10:28

Its a Cracker!!! [in best Northern Ireland accent]

Can we have that fish in the North lake please....... http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/smirk.gif http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/blush.gif

15-09-2004, 10:29

Why - because they can - if i had the choice iu would get a lake closed too..... be honest with yourself and others.... http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/shocked.gif http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

15-09-2004, 10:33
Must say this all seems a bit silly. A couple of people made half hearted comments (with no real malice) and suddenly everyone's up in arms about it.
Well done Cash, a fine result.....but i don't think for one minute that the posts that offended you were meant to.

Lol, Miller
You're taking your location a bit too far mate, if you can't see the green eyed monster in there somewhere. http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

15-09-2004, 10:36

15-09-2004, 10:39
Green eyed monster quote is trawled out again...... yawn

Why is it that people can't answer questions? All I'm asking is why they shut the lake. Can't see how that is helping anyone, especially potential buyers of this video.

Not seen it yet, but apparently the Korda Pt2 video has no captures in it? Bet it's useful info though... do you see my point?

Mick barnes
15-09-2004, 10:43
No Idea why they shut the lake Claus.
However, have a wild guess I'd say that it was to stop the dribbling noddies casting over their lines and the retarded wannabee capt Pugwashes of this world sailing there boats all over there swims when they start to catch. fair enough in my eyes.
And yes i would like to fish Sandhurst all to myself, but i can't, Oh well. http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif

15-09-2004, 10:43
Certainly not from me mate.
Fair play to Cash and Garth, both clearly good anglers. We may all give Cash a bit of stick from time to time, but he catches to order when required.

(cue Lewis and his brown tongue jokes http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif )

15-09-2004, 10:50
i'm confused!?!?
have i been accused of Cash Bashin?
of being an internet only dangler?

i dunno - i'm just confooosed (as me neighbour Bernard says)

15-09-2004, 10:51
Well done cash http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif, about time someone beat the lake record http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/smirk.gif !

I wonder how big Tyson is Â…Â…?

15-09-2004, 10:54
Out of curiousity what has happened with Tyson.. How big why does it not get caught? Is it one of them fish?

15-09-2004, 10:56
But barney, that is what happens on day ticket (and some other) waters. Its hardly a reflection of day ticket angling when there was no other anglers there is it???

It should be about how to get the best out your swim/adapt when you have other anglers and noddies doing there thing in the swims around you.

And I am not knocking anyone at all, well done on your captures and glad you both had a good time!!!

15-09-2004, 11:06
to be honest - i don't really know who barney is actually referring to....i've not bashed cash in any way as far as i'm aware (unless a little very light hearted banter is now cashbashing!)....and i'm certainly not jealous..... http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif......as a bailiff we have the lake to ourselves a couple of weekends a year anyway and i hardly fish the place at the moment so am not likely to care less whether it's shut for a few days or not !! as for being an internet angler...yeah right...whatever you wanna think is fine by me.... http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

only thing i DO object to is personal attacks on other bailiffs on open forum.... http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif

15-09-2004, 11:37
dean - not sure about tyson.......have reports of various sightings.....our best guess is that he is, as you say, one of those fish....or that he's been hooked and lost....which wouldn't be a huge surprise as a lot of people were losing fish left right and centre when the fishes mouths were really soft back in the spring.....

if he's putting on weight...even at half the rate the other stockies are....he's gotta be 38...or more..... http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif

15-09-2004, 11:48
This has escalted somewhat - thanks Miller, Lew, Barney and others for your comments - most appreciated.
Claus - Why did we ask for the lake to be shut? (I understand what you've said by the way and yes we did consider not shutting it) but we've been making these vids for many years now and unfortunately if you keep the lake open to all you get no end of problems. Main one being visitors all the time, during filming etc and hanging around. It puts you off somewhat and also creates problems with the audio (people talking in the background - even on the opposite bank the mic pics them up). This is just one of the headaches that occur if the lake is left open.
I'm sure you understand.

17-09-2004, 07:43
Is it true that there were hundreds of Garths adoring female fans running round dressed in only high heels and bikinis?

17-09-2004, 09:16
I heard they had a 20 foot floating raft put in the lake for them all to do pole dancing on.

17-09-2004, 09:30

17-09-2004, 09:42

It's probably boring viewing anyway.

And yes we do, thats why I've dug it out and put it back to the top of the pile.

18-07-2005, 17:16
for a minute then I thougt I was seeing things is a withdrawn post from this morning the reason for bringing this one up??

18-07-2005, 18:01

lake closed lake not closed. I couldnt give a s**t.

What is sad is that sandhurst has now lost a good bailiff because of all this handbag swinging, the guy was just attempting a bit of humour and now he isnt a bailiff anymore.
Agreed probably a bit stupid but we all make the odd mistake.

Anyway this thread will probably be deleted now anyway, as we cant have cemex looking unfair can we.

20-07-2005, 08:21

May have read wrong and apologies where apologies are due,
but the other comment was just a loose bit of groundbait (with absolutely no offence intended whatsoever) which was mopped up like most of the rest of the prebaiting I've done in the past here at the Big Web Lake.

21-07-2005, 00:19
One person cathes a fish and we have three pages of banter?! . . . its only ruddy fishing people...!!!

21-07-2005, 08:06
Exactly, it's only fishing.
But it is always a shame when a small minority can't handle it when others catch. Then what usually follows are one or two other regulars who hijack threads for no other reason than to stir things up.

Good catch by the way. It's always difficult to have to catch to order wherever you go.

21-07-2005, 11:42
Catching fish is over rated anyway.

27-07-2005, 15:08
Cash, Garthy. Don't care too much about the fish as that's not really the point but well done. I hope the video is a good one and I'm sure it'll help a lot of anglers, day ticket or not. I agree with the lake closing, to be honest I've not seen many with crowds in the background so it's obviously the done thing and your points on filming make sense to me.

I also don't know how a bailiff was lost as I haven't been watching this forum but it's a shame. To be honest, if I could fish Sandy on my tod I'd jump at it and stuff the knockers! I think that most people are like me, not exactly jealous but would love to be in your position. If anybody reading this is actually jealous, grow up, get off your butt, do the work and put yourself in people like Cash's position. It don't always come on a plate! Rant over.

27-07-2005, 19:56
Just to put anyone reading this in the picture this is a old thread that has been brought up again, i believe because of a more recent thread that was deleted. The little argument in this thread is old news now and so is this capture. But this is still a good capture No fishing bank or not. Only Joking Cash.

The fish in this thread has now put on 5lbs and has come out most recently at 41lbs.

The thread has only been put up near the top again due to a fairly heated deleted thread, i think this thread should be sent back to the bottom again now though.

28-07-2005, 08:13
LOL Justin.
I had Cracker from the Pipes actually, and took the photo's and video plus returned her on the No Fishing bank - didn't catch her from there!
Yes it is an old thread, but hey it keeps up conversation.
Did an overnighter on Sandy last night - hardly anyone on there - amazed! Fish everywhere and I ended up with an 11lb+ Bream at 05.30am this morning - GREAT! http://www.cemexangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
Next time huh!

28-07-2005, 12:17
As i said cash only joking. I was on sandy monday and tuesday night. Fish showing everywhere but mainly in the middle. It looked so good but only managed a tench and a small common of 14lb. I havent heard of many fish coming out of sandy that small recently. Ive probably now had the biggest fish cracker and the smallest and missed out most of the middle order.

28-07-2005, 12:18
