I tend to lean towards sweet corn if I want to put a bit of bait in. Problem I have is that the water I'm on is fairly shallow and has prolific birdlife.
I guess the obvious answer is hemp but never seem to have done that well on it when it's really cold.
Any ideas? Do they still do the black sweetcorn in the tins?

Why do you think you haven't done well on the hemp when its cold?
Ive no idea. In the summer I love the stuff but during winter I just seem to struggle. I just use standard stuff in fairly small amounts.

Would it have anything to do with the fish picking out larger single food items?

Small pellets and boilie crumb mainly, a good carrier for some attractors and easily cleared up by small fish.

Id be loading it with either Chili, Garlic or Curry powder/flakes Plus salt and leave that to sit a minimum of 24 hours before use.
You could always dye your own corn a darker colour ?
Partiblend, the birds seem to struggle with the small bits.
