I'm tempted to leave all bait at home and roam the zigs around whilst fishing days only. Has anyone had good winter success using this method?

Yes, i start in the middle third depth wise and then adjust it from there. The earlier in the winter the more likely that i will fish higher/lower than that

At suffolk water park 3ft zigs were the only way I could get bites winter time
Winter, Spring and Summer! Have had more success casting a 2ft zig at showing fish than any other rig / bait.
