Spend as much as you can afford. made the mistake of buying cheap ones for a while and found the switches went and they used batteries pretty quickly. Not had any issues since I bought a petzl.

The energiser headtorches are good, paid about 10 quid for it 5 years ago and its still fine, probly only change the batteries twice a year max. Dont see why people go out and spend silly money on a super bright headtorch for fishing?

Ive just bought a petzl pixa 3 on the recommendation off someone on here and its superb. The light it gives off is unreal. Ive also been using a petzl taktika for the last few years and that has been excellent as well but the pixa is in a different league altogether.

Aldi had a nice one on offer on Sunday, 2 white LEDs and 1 red. Fully adjustable and very good value.
I've had mine for over a year with no problems and still the same batteries.
Can't go wrong for 2.99

Only thing with the energizer ones is they drive me mad cycling through 4 button presses every time to turn it off! You don't seem to be able to get the older slide switch ones anymore which is a shame.

Led lenzer all the way. Pricey but worth it. You can find them on sale ATM on amazon and flea bay. Energiser are ok but the button does my head in. The sounds of the bloody thing. Ekkk

Energiser still do a slide one but it only has full beem and half beem it doesnt have red on it, but you can get them for 6 quid so can hardly complain! Im still using the old button one and i dont really find it that annoying cycling through the settings, im probly used to it by now though!

Had to go check which my headtorch was, its a petzl tikki something led, had it a while, faultless. In fact I've only ever had three, all petzl and all still working, not bad for something like 25 years combined !

Anyone got one of these new re-chargeable Petzl's?
