20x30s? Blimey that's come along! Used to fish it mid to late 90s just before Danny Jackson took over. Loads of features over there, loved it.

What's in South Weald nowadays?
Always see a few people fishing it, but nobody wants to give too much away!

Blast from the past. Caught one of my first Carp at Belhus, it was off the top, just a dog biscuit directly on the hook, didn't even use a float back then. I used to ride my bike to the lake and back. Ahh life was so simple then.

Lol days only!

You might get the odd plank doing nights as with most day only waters if people cant catch them by doing days then f***k off and go else where.there's plenty of noddy holes around for these boys

Mate of mine had a wander over South Weald one night to see how easy it would be to do some sneaky "after hours" fishing.
He counted 7 people fishing!

Every park / council / public lake that I know has had people fishing nights when they weren't supposed to for at least the last 30 years.

Provided the people fishing are anglers who are there purely for the fishing; long may the tradition continue!

Has the Weald had a stocking? or are they the same fish Geoff Kemp and co where catching in the eightees? If so, they must be very old now. Which one gets fished now? Top or bottom lake?

It's half a lifetime ago i last walked round, just mild interest really, a couple of my mates caught their first twenty's from there.
