Anybody know if these (http://www.humbersideangling.com/ProductDetails/mcs/productID/267/groupID/1/categoryID/4/v/4eecbda5-109d-44fc-9d07-57a809f3cad9) are any good? I have read somewhere that baitrunner conversion caps can compromise the excellent clutch that the Emblems have - is this true?

The stainless ones do effect the clutch badly, I found the best ones were daiwa own plastic ones. They are made specifically for the Emblems.

Can't comment on the ones shown

Fish straight off the clutch mate http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I didn't get on with the conversions, even the pukka Diawa ones. Neither did a couple of my mates.

Nice idea but awkward to use in practice - cost me a few fish with line getting tangled round or trapped under the lever http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Another problem with them is the inability to tighten down the clutch fully. This could be problematin when going for the big cast. The last thing you want is clutch slip.

Too true Singy, suffered a few 'braid burns' when giving it the big heave with a 4oz lead.

I found they are a good idea when feature finding though. Mine lives on the marker rod now, eliminates all the messing about with the clutch, providing you aren't chucking big leads any distance.

The other reels are on my Pike rods - minus the 'baitrunners' - and perfect for the job they are too.

Yup. Must agree. It's easy to get used to fishing off the clutch.
