I have the choice of two cameras, one is an EOS 400D with a couple of lenses and the Other is a Sureshot G10.
It will be for fishy pics and a few lake shots etc, Im swaying towards the G10 at present, whats your views.

If you have the space the slr will always take better quality pictures and be more expandable with remotes etc.

The 400D is the better camera all round. They are two different types though, probably either will do what you are aiming for so cost or space might decide it.

If you want simplicity and good pictures - G10
If you want better pictures and ever considering upgrading lenses - 400D.

For fish captures, a canon (fixed/prime) EF 50mm f/1.8 II lens will let in much more light than the G10`s.
What lenses come with the 400D?

Not sure whats with it at the moment, but I know there is two different ones. This may be a stupid question but can you use lenses from older SLR (Non Digital) or are they completely different?
