If you don't get on with it and you decide to sell it, give me first refusal. I think this one is an improvement on the G5 and G6 for night shots. These 2 use a red beam to light up the target where as the G11 uses a blue one and light's up better for night shots. Have you tried this as i am thinking of getting one myself.

I've got the Nikon L100 and although I haven't used it for self-takes I don't really think it would be good for self-takes. There is only a 10 second one-shot function for the self-timer and no remote is available. So for a few shots your having to keep picking up and putting down the fish...no different to alot of camera's I suppose but I'm sure there would be better options. Also, I find that the camera is a bit iffy in low light (blur etc) unless you use the high ISO setting which compromises the overall picture quality in low light. But, then again you can always use the flash which I try not to do if I can get away with it...

It's a great camera for long zooming and has a good sport's mode and macro, and I've taken some great pictures on it while travelling, but for self-takes, I'd want something that will take 2-3 pictures at a time.

S5is set the custom timer, to 30 seconds then the camera fires up to 10 shots, with the flip round screen, it really makes self takes simple

It had loads of options with the timer. you can set any time up to 30 seconds between shots, for example 20 shots 10 seconds in between. good little camera
