Hi, I need help on what to buy for a fishing camera ( Self take important).

Here are my options any advice greatfully received.

I currently have a sony DSC-1 but it it not great at self take.

I also have some Good Quality Nikkor lenses on my old film camera (F80), I was thinking of buying a D100 2nd hand and using the lenses. Self take would probably have to be bulb release.

Option 2 is I purchase a 2nd hand camera either a Canon G6 or a Pro 1 and use a remote control self take, but I assume I would have to set at manual Auto Focus.

budget would be around 130 - 150 for anything additional

Thanks for reading

go 4 the G6:thumbs:

As above. Easy to use, flip screen with remote for self takes.

i used to own a G6 .............nice camera does everything you need BUT these days i have up-graded to a pro1 and everything is just that bit better...........you can pick up a good example on ebay for around about 150 - 170 so not really much over your suggested budget.

I'd steer clear of the D100 option if I where you, I had one for work use for a couple of years and they aren't that great. They consistently under expose when using flash as the main light source, meaning constant fiddling with the exposure settings

If you want to continue using your nikkor lenses I'd look out for a second hand D200, much, much better camera and shouldn't be too much money now they've brought out subsequent models.
