ok i've got my canon400 d now so is there any advice on settings for my fish photo's or different lenses???

Read that, will give you a good whats what guide to help you pick things up quicker and understand what does what.

And a good lens for fish shots is the Canon 50mm f1.8, known as the nifty fifty.

Used to be about £50 but prices have shot up since Jan.

how much diffrent is there in a canon lens and a sigma lens? 50mm size

Never used a sigma lens but the Canon 50mm F1.8 is crap build quality, very plastic’e and the centre weighted focusing point is out on mine (at F1.8), but ! It is a very cheap lens (£90ish) and for the price the results are very good.

I wish I'd saved the cash (£280'ish) and got the 50mm F1.4, loads better lens.

£60 if you shop around, you can't expect much for that, but for that price it is awesome.
