Can anyone help with writing slideshows to disc and viewing on TV

I recently made a slideshow in ACDSEE with some nice effects and a tasteful music backing, it played on my PC but when I wrote it onto a disc it wouldn't play on my front room DVD player. I probably need to write it in a different format not available on ACDSEE.

Any ideas for doing this with cheap (free?) software packages?

just thinking though, maybe it's the way you are authoring the DVD.

That was helpful Singy  , what exactly is "authoring the DVD" I make the slideshow using ACDSEE and I write the DVD using Sonic. There are no buttons for "Authoring."

May I say you get younger and better looking every day

Well, for a DVD to play on most DVD players (not all) it needs to authored as a movie DVD and not a data DVD. You will end up with a load of VOB files etc. Otherwise just burning it to DVD will basically give you a very large CD.

The slide show you create may be an exe file (or similar), that will only run on a windows operating sytem and not on a correctly authored DVD.

Will windows movie maker or imovie do something similar?
